Randal memories

I remember when Darla was born.   Darla was my second sister and the fifth child in our growing family of ten children.

My grandfather Joseph Anderson nicknamed her "Nina Marche", which very loosely was French for Ninth of March.  I always remembered her birthday because the the nickname.

I remember when Russel was hit by a car and was in the hospital and going to see he and Darla.  After Russel's death, Darla went to Egypt with Russel's mom.  I don't recall many of the details, except that she brought back souvenirs for us.

I remember one time I was on a business trip to Connecticut,   Darla, Ray and Laura drove from Alexandria to see me.  I don't recall having seen them since they moved from Utah.  We went out to eat, visited and got to spend a little time together.  I remember thinking how nice it was of them to travel that far just to see me.

Another time, Vic and I went on vacation to Alexandria and spent time in their home.  Darla chauffeured us around to the various sites in and around Washington DC.  We even drove up to Gettysburg.  Darla also showed us where the Metro was. which we also used to get to some of the historic sites.  I remember them serving us the Honey baked ham and going to Boston Market for takeout.  The first time I had heard of or been to either one of them.
